The safety and well-being of children, families and staff is paramount at The Children’s Room. In order to ensure best practice we have comprehensive policies and procedures in place for all aspects of nursery life. We are sharing here the selection of policies we believe would be most helpful for parents to access.

  • First Aid & Accidents Policy

    At Sunshine Montessori the safety of all children is paramount and we have measures in place to help to protect children. However sometimes accidents do unavoidably happen.

    We follow this policy and procedure to ensure all parties are supported and cared for when accidents or incidents happen and that the circumstances of the accident or incident are reviewed with a view to minimising any future risks.

  • Admissions Policy

    At Sunshine Montessori it is our intention to make our establishment genuinely accessible to all children and families from the local community and surrounding areas. Please read our policy to understand how we endeavour to achieve this.

  • Child Protection Policy

    The Children’s Room is fully committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of all children. We recognise our responsibilities to take all reasonable steps to promote safe practice and to protect children from harm, abuse and neglect.

  • Complaints Policy

  • Failure to collect a child

    In the instance where a child has not been collected this is the policy we will follow.

  • Medicine Policy

    In the case that a child requires medication at nursery then this is the policy we follow.

  • Nappy Change Policy

    At Sunshine MontessoriNappy change our nappy change policy emphaises that we support children’s care and welfare on a daily basis in line with their individual needs. Wherever possible, each child’s key person will change nappies and support toileting according to the child’s individual needs and requirements.

  • Outings Policy

    At Sunshine Montessori we belive that outings provide huge benefit for children. This is the policy we follow for all outings.

  • Special Dietary Policy

    At Sunshine Montessori we cater to all children’s special dietary needs and intolerances. This is the policy we follow in order to keep children safe with this.

  • Weaning Policy

    We are here to support children and their families through the weaning process. This is the weaning policy we follow.

  • Whistleblowing Policy

    If anyone has a concern about any adult within the nursery community then please use our whistleblowing policy to report it.

  • Illness and Infection Policy

    Please use this guidance to know what to do with regard to your child in the case of different illnesses.

  • Behaviour Management Policy

    All children need to learn how to behave. We follow a policy of positive behaviour management.

  • Safer Recruitment Policy

    We know that the best way to keep children, families and staff safe is to follow all the steps of our safer recruitment policy when we hire new staff members.
